3 Terrific Life Hacks for Spring Cleaning
I love sharing tips on anything to make things go more easier for people. Regular visitors to Security Self Storage in Napa know that I love to visit and share all sorts of things that I’ve discovered!
Not long ago, I ran across a few Life Hacks that are seriously game changers. I’ll be honest, I hate wearing rubber gloves to clean and I really hate the texture of abrasive clearers on my skin. As such, as you can imagine, I don’t particularly enjoy scrubbing sinks or bathtubs. Enter Lifehack #1.
Dish wand to the rescue!
Are you ready to have your mind blown? Here you go. Rather than using a sponge with a scrubbing pad to scrub your sink, counters, etc., grab an extra dish wand with a scrub sponge head. You know the kind; they have a reservoir in which you pour soap. These are easily found at many dollar stores. Sprinkle the surface with your favorite scouring powder (I love Barkeeper’s Friend), moisten the scrub sponge tip on your handy-dandy wand, and go to town. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably wondering why you didn’t think of this sooner, right?
Make your mop do double duty!
While you’re probably thinking that you could use this same Lifehack to do your tub, I can beat it! I know, you’re probably thinking that’s impossible, but check this out! Go take a peek at your trusty mop. Many mops have the option to purchase a scrubbing mop head. Are you still with me? Yep, that’s right! Slap one of those babies on your mop, and you’re set to scrub your tub, shower, and tiles. Amazing, right?
Line ‘em up!
Moving out of the bathroom, let’s visit the kitchen. I don’t know about you, but I hate cleaning out the fridge. I saw a tip several years ago and I’ve used it religiously since. Line the shelves of your refrigerator with press and seal plastic wrap. I’ve also used parchment paper or waxed paper for this and they both work. If something spills on the shelf, remove the items, wipe them down and add another liner. Easy!
